Pictures added for the Psygnomia monsters. Thanks jade :D
7/1/06:
Morphing is now working! There are two morphing abilities right now: Light Angel Morph and Dark Angel
Morph. Both require that you be proficient in all skills...
You can now sell weapon and armor in bulk to the Junk Collector.
6/25/06:
I don't have Internet access in my new apartment yet, but I'm starting to work on updates, as promised...
The morph back-end code is complete. However, the display engine has not been updated yet. In the
unlikely event that you get a Morph ability scroll in the next few days, please DO NOT attempt to use
it in battle.
Some moves have been rebalanced...
I'm starting on some back-end coding to reduce database and code size, hopefully translating into
faster load times (though with only 4 users a day, I guess it's not such a big deal :P)
Ancient Cave's restock speed has been decupled, and it now restocks Ether Shards for teleportation.
4/16/06:
Bug fixes. Why didn't anyone tell me you could stand on top of your partner? :P
4/15/06:
The good news: There is now a bestiary in the Ancient Cave, with a creature that gives 100,000 EXP!
The bad news: It doesn't die easily...
3/20/06:
Finally! A use for those bizarre L1 Learning Orbs :P Go to Proterra and visit the Training Center for
an explanation. An Orb Fusion center will pop up..."soon"...
3/19/06:
The site layout has been adjusted to make it viewable on a 800x600 screen. 1024x768 is still recommended,
though.
Now, accessible from your status page, is a list of all your alchemy
and smithing abilities, along with the items necessary for each, and the number of uses of each you have left.
Also available is the alchemy helper, a compact version of the list that you can keep open as you play. Note:
The alchemy helper refreshes every minute, not after every use, so if you want to see the most up to date
counts, hit the refresh button at the bottom.
The sidebar now has two new buttons that open up the friends list and the alchemy helper.
Please take a moment to go here to vote for, rate,
and/or review alpha/ :)
3/15/06:
As promised, there are some new enemies! Go to Prismos, and you should be able to go to Psygnomia from there.
Yes, it is a rush job, so the enemies don't have pictures yet, and there's nothing special in the city...but at
least you guys now have some enemies to fight that give large amounts of EXP...you can get up to 13K per fight.
I've decided to change the rules for the Race to Level 50. The first three weapon users, magic users, and item
users (9 people in all) will each get Ambidexterity.
3/14/06:
The Race to Level 50 is on! The first 3 people to reach level 50 get Ambidexterity placed directly on their
accounts. I'll be adding higher level enemies (hopefully soon) to aid in the race.
3/13/06:
A friends list has been added! You can access it from the status page. You can also
add someone directly from their lookup.
2/19/06:
Junk collector in Cardinal Trading Post! Sell all your old, useless equipment to him...
The Lucent Compressor has been upgraded, so now everyone may use it.
2/18/06:
The host has been hacked...again...we had to do a 1-week server rollback :(
We need to do the beta test rewards again, but this time, don't send an email, put your request on the
thread in the General forum titled Beta Test Rewards. Refer to the list below for what you can get :) All claims
up until 3/31/06 will be honored.
2/8/06:
I've decided to declare the beta testing stage over when we hit 100 users. Now you guys should start
thinking about what you'd like to have for your rewards. Each of you may choose from one of the following:
500,000 gold
5 AP
+50 permanently to any one stat
Any one ability level 5 or below (your choice) placed directly onto your account, regardless of
skill level, prerequisites, or antirequisites
Any one scroll in your possession (your choice) identified for free
Any one Infinite Gem Dust item (your choice)
Sacred Ring (+20% all stats)
Champion Ring (+30% ATK & DEF, +50% HP, -20% SPD)
Warlock Ring (+30% POW & RES, +50% SP, -20% SPD)
When we hit 100 users, send me an email telling me which of these you want, as well as your User ID (that number
I asked you to keep; if you've forgotten, we'll figure something out). All claims up until the end of the month
after the month in which we hit 100 users will be honored. For example, if we hit 100 users in February, you need
to send in your email by 3/31/06.
You may have noticed the Chromion Spring in Chromis. That mission is your only way to get high level abilities ;)
Check the Forum for details on the quest.
I made a back-end change that will allow me to add some more features to the battle. Keep an eye out for more
scrollery-enabled scrolls!
1/17/06:
As you may have noticed, damage calculations have been altered. Now, the higher your level, the less
damage you take. This makes high-level arena fights more interesting ;)
The referral system has now been changed! Now, when a user signs up, he/she can specify the person who
referred him or her. Check in at Lucence periodically to collect your prizes for referrals.
Some changes to certain attacks were made.
1/2/06:
Lots of things happened in the past few days!
We've moved to a new server! This server will (hopefully) be faster, up more often, and pop-up free.
Double traveling is now available! Team up with other members to take on brand new enemies! You can
check it out in Maranoir, Sylphanis, & Radion.
I stumbled across my Java code! Yay! New spells, weapon and armor attributes.
The forum link has been moved to the sidebar and is now accessible no matter where you are. The two
forums were merged, so all old threads are still there.
Small aesthetic changes.
You can now find people's current location by looking them up.
You can now instant message people via the site! Remember to have Javascript enabled and to turn your
popup blocker off. There are no pop-up ads on this site anyway, thanks to our new server :) Firefox
users can go to Tools -> Options -> Web Features -> Block Popup Windows -> Allowed Sites
-> enter "aspspider.net" in the address box -> Allow -> OK -> OK. To message people, go
to Messaging or look up the person you want to IM.
12/21/05:
There is a Christmas Tree in Proterra. Stop by and get your free gift ;) It goes down after Christmas, so...
12/18/05:
Wow, it's been a long time since I posted news...
On the back end: your passwords are now encrypted, and the battle engine code has been reworked to make
it easier to modify in the future.
Admins can no longer retrieve your password; however, they can reset your password, which you can then
change by going here (the link may be found from the Status page at the very
bottom).
Since I left my Java code at school, I can't exactly code new attacks; however, be on the lookout for new
weapon and armor attributes.
10/31/05:
Announcing a new contest! At the end of each month, I will see who has the most research entries in
the ability research and the alch item research
and award each top researcher a prize, to be determined by the number of entries.
For those of you who are item users but don't know how to use alchemy, check out the "Beginner's Guide
to Alchemy" in the Forum in Proterra. And feel free to use that forum to ask questions about gameplay,
or anything else that pops into your mind.
Since we've had some issues with what abilities need what levels and prerequisites, I've added a feature
to the City Sage: If you hover your mouse over the name of the ability, its
research entry, required level, and prerequisites will appear. Yay CSS! :P
